GPA Calculations
Your overall GPA (Grade Point Average) at SUNY Cortland is calculated using quality points, which take into account both the grade you earned and the number of credits the course is worth. Your GPA is determined by dividing the total number of quality points by the total number of credit hours for which you have been graded.
The higher the grade and the higher the credits the more quality points. Classes with more credits have a bigger impact on your GPA.
